The roller-back:
This is an odd name but the style is superb, it is actually one of my favourites because it is simple to do but the outcome is so unusual and different and you’ll be striking a very individualistic pose with it. To do it: divide your hair in half between the top and the bottom (so a horizontal divide line), tie the bottom half up (it’ll be easier to tie the top half up in the mean time, so that it doesn’t get in the way) in an hair-tie and loop the tail inwards and secure with pins. Next take the top half and brush it over the loop (without gaps in the hair) and pin it underneath so that there is a little hair jutting out from the bottom of your head. Voilà! You’ve got an incredibly elegant rollout do! To keep it secure spray on some Freeze and Shine Super Spray from Paul Mitchell for extra hold.

The 70’s side pony:
This does not have to be the unattractive braces girl kind of look that we conjure in our heads. The side pony has actually taken radical form on the runway lately, both in the form of side buns and hanging ponytails. For those with shorter hair a messy bun in the middle/at the side is a perfect way to change it up. Those with long hair it is great to have it low on your head with it trailing down your shoulder, and play around with this- turn it into a braid, make a shaggy ponytail or straighten it all the way through.

Two-textures:
If you want volume at the back but are looking to keep it relatively tame at the front you should try this style. Give yourself a middle parting and tuck the front few pieces behind your ears. So essentially the front is relatively flat (you can flatten it more by straightening it with a straightening iron, but this will create a very stark contrast). Next curl the hair from the chin down, with a 1-inch curler. Once it has cooled brush it out for a little more frizz. I love this look as it creates a self-made illusion of layers, it is also a creative way to frame the face.

That’s it from these innovative styles; remember there is always something out there for everyone. Short or long hair, curly or straight, thick or thin, the possibilities are not limited to one single style… so get creative and think about the combination of what you like the most and what suites you best… you are always so come out with something great and a little different.
